The fallacy of inter-mingling of qualities (Vaitikar) is also imputed to this argument, in asmuch as both existence and non-existence are equally maintained in regard to a thing. One obstructs the other. The answer is that existence is predicated of the pot in view of its material form and nonexistence in view of its phenomenal form. Therefore, there is no such fallacy.
The fallacy of doubt objected to, has already been refuted. The fallacy of A pratipatti-want of understanding-disappears when it is once admitted that the argument is not liable to the fallacy of doubt. Where there is no doubt, there is no lack of understanding.
The argument is not liable even to the fallacy of Abhava (negation); for this fallacy arises out of the fallacy of Apratipati which has already been repudiated. When there is lack of
