લોકના અગ્રણી પદ પર આવવાની જે તારી સ્પૃહા હોય, તે લેભરૂપ प्रियाने तोउ। प्रदर ५३षा ॥२५.”–९७ लोभवृत्तचित्रीये स्वेच्छया पूरयितुं क्षमन्ते न शाकतोऽपि स्वककुक्षिरन्ध्रम् ।
आन्दोलितान्तःकरणा नृपश्री-प्रेप्सासमीरेण भवन्ति तेऽपिx॥६॥ ... The hearts of those, who are not able, of their own accord, to stuff their bellies even with vegetables, are also again moved with the breeze in the form of desire for royal wealth. ( 68 ) લેભવૃત્તિનું વૈચિત્ર્ય
જેઓ યથેષ્ટરીતે શાકમાત્રથી પણ પિતાનું કુક્ષિરધ્ધ પૂરવા સમર્થ નથી, તેવાઓનાં પણ અન્તઃકરણો રાજ્યલક્ષ્મીની પૃહારૂપ વાયુવડે અદેसित थाय छे."-१८ लोभस्यानर्थकारित्वमाचष्टेलोभार्दितः किं न करोति कष्टं लोभाऽऽहतः किं न करोति कर्म। करोत्यनर्थ पितृ-बान्धवाना-मप्याशु लोभच्छुरिकाहताक्षः ॥१९॥
