ચાર સુખી ન હોય—
આજ સુધીમાં એ દેખ્યું તેમ સાંભળ્યું નથી કે ચેરીનું આલંબન લેનાર મનુષ્યે કાટીધ્વજ બનીને નિઃશ ંકપણે ખૂબ આનન્દ અનુભવ્યેા હાય. ૩૧

स्तेनान् परिदेवयते-
चौर्यपापमधिष्ठितोऽस्ति स्वास्थ्यं परं हारितवान् न, किन्तु । धृतिं च धैर्ये च मतिं च सम्यग् जन्मान्तरं चापि स हीनभाग्यः॥ ३२ ॥
Not only does the unfortunate man who has ascended the tree of theft lose complete peace of mind but also steadiness, patience and discrimination in the next world. ( 32 )
ચારી કરનાર પૂર્ણ દુ:ખી—
“ જે, ચેરીરૂપ પાપના વૃક્ષ ઉપર ચઢી બેઠો છે, તે પાતાના સ્વાસ્થ્યનેજ ફ્કત ખાઇ એડો છે, એમ નથી, પરન્તુ તે દુર્ભાગી સ્થિરતા, ધીરતા, વિવેક અને ભવિષ્યની સદ્ગતિને પણ હારી ગયા છે.”—કર
हिंसातोsपि चौर्य विभीषणम्यो मार्यतेऽसौ क्षणमेक एव प्राप्नोति दुःखं द्रविणे हृते तु । सपुत्रपौत्रोऽप्युपयाति यावज्जीवं विचिन्त्येति जहातु चौर्यम् ॥ ३३॥
A man, who is murdered, suffers pain alone and that too for a moment, but with the deprivation of wealth a man suffers during his whole life and along with his sons and grandsons. The habit of stealing, therefore should be given up. ( 38 )
હિંસાથી પણ ચારી વધુ ભયંકર—
“ જે પ્રાણીને મારવામાં આવે છે, તે પ્રાણી એકલેાજ, વળી ક્ષણમાત્રજ દુ:ખ ભોગવે છે, પણ જેનું ધન લૂંટી લેવામાં આવે છે,
