SPIRITUAL LIGHT. looked upon as culminating in Fatalism. What is generally termed Fate is nothing but the accumulative effect of one's own past actions. In fact it lies within us to mould our destiny. If we perform good actions now here, in the next birth we shall have no occasion to blame our fate. Thus really speaking the theory of rebirth need not cause any misgivings but ought to be an incentive to the performance of good deeds.
According to the nature of Karma, Jiva transmigrates from one life to another. Unlike as in some systems of theology, Jainism believes that a Jiva born in a higher stage may again pass on to a lower stage if the Jiva's Karmas are such. The stages are four, Dova, Mānusha, Tiryanch and Nāraki. The highest and the last stage is Parmatman stage from which there is no returning.
અધ્યાત્મનું મહત્તથ બતાવયું, હવે અધ્યાત્મજ્ઞાન મેળવવા માટે તવશ્રદ્ધાન રાખવાનું બતાવે છે
- “ આત્મા છે, કર્મ ( શુભ, અશુભ યા પુણ્ય-પાપ ) છે, પરલોક છે, મેક્ષ છે, મોક્ષ મેળવવાનું સાધન છે, આ પ્રકારે અન્તઃકરણમાં સવિચારપૂર્વક દઢ વિશ્વાસ રાખવો જોઈએ. ”—૧૪
વ્યાખ્યા,
સર્વદર્શનવાળાઓ આત્માને સ્વીકારે છે. જે આત્માને નથી માનતે, તે તેને પ્રમાદ છે. બીજા પદાર્થો જેમ પ્રત્યક્ષ દેખાય છે, તેમ આત્મા જે કે પ્રત્યક્ષ દેખાતું નથી, તો પણ સ્વાનુભવ પ્રમાણથી તે બરાબર જાણી શકાય છે. “હું સુખી છું, હું દુખી છું ” એવી લાગણી જડ શરીરને હોઈ શકે કિશરીરને મહિમા કરવામાં આવે, તે મડદું કહેવાતા શરીરમાં મહિલાનને પ્રકાશવોશ મને ?,
