cü bulimianieis. how soul came to be enmeshed by Karma. For such reasons Karma and Soul are supposed to be joined together from- Anādi time.
This Anadi Karma is a kind of force which compels Soul to bear the consequences of its action. It is the subtle thought-form of Soul; it is the ideal activity, energy, the will force-of Soul. This energy is manifold and consequently Karmic forces are equally so.
But every force requires some material to hold it. No force is seen independent of matter. Hence according to its manifestation the Karmic force is said to be of different kinds of Prakriti i. e. subtle matter...Hence Karma is sometimes defined as subtle," unseen, real physical matter.
The resultant of Karmic forces is also designated Karma; this is the second connotation. This Karma is the activity of the body, or mind or any or all of the senses. This Karma is the consequence of past Karma and may be the cause of some Karma in future. That I am writing a book is Karma; it is brought about by my past Karma; and in its turn it may lead to some other Karma which I shall have to do.
Bearing in mind this two-fold aspect of Karma we may now define Karma.
