The Upanisad seems to have had its beginning on a leaf which is lost; and a leaf numbered as 4 gives the colophon of the first part of the Upanisad as follows:--
इत्यथर्वणरहस्ये श्रीरामपूर्वतापनीये प्रथमोपनिषत् ।
The work is otherwise complete and gives the Santi सह नाववतु.
In the Uttaratapini, the colophons of the first and the third Khandas give the subject-matter as follows:
