Brahma explains to Nidāgha the five kinds of illusion on account of which the universe becomes variedly manifest; and as a means for the attainment of the knowledge of the unity of the self with the Brahman inculcated in the Advaita Vedanta, the Annapürņamantra is taught.
Beginning: ओं भद्रंकर्णोभिरिति शान्तिः ॥
निदाघो नाम योगीन्द्रो ऋभु ब्रह्मविदां वरम् । प्रणम्य दण्डवद्भूमावुत्थाय स पुनर्मुनिः ॥ आत्मतत्वमनुब्रूहीत्येवं पप्रच्छ सादरम् । क्रियोपासनया ब्रह्मन्नीदृशं प्राप्तवानति ॥ मां(तां)मे ब्रूहि महाविद्यां मोक्षसाम्राज्यदायिनीम् ।
End:
अन्तः सर्वपरित्यागी बहिः कुरु यथागतम् । चित्तसत्ता परं दुःवं चित्तयागः परं सुरवम् ॥ अतश्चित्तं चिदेकात्मा नय क्षयमवेदनात् । दृष्ट्वा रम्यमरम्यं वा स्थेयं पाषाणवत्तमम् ।। एतावतात्र यत्नेन जितो भवति संसृतिः । वेदान्ते परमं गुह्यं पुराकल्पप्रचोदितम् ।।
