The first Khanda of this coincides with tho Brahmabindupanisad.
After explaining the greatness of the Praņava, 3714, this Upanişad teaches the Hamsa vidya, which consists in repoating the word Hamsa after performing certain Yogic practices in respect of controlling the breath, &c., and explains its great value as a help to Yoga and self-realization. It eulogizes the Supreme Wisdom of the Supreme Being and points ont that He is omnipcnetrative as the Self of the Universe.
Beginning: सह नाववत्विति शान्तिः । अथ ब्रह्मविद्योपनिषदुच्यते ।
प्रसादाद्ब्रह्मणस्तस्य विष्णोरद्भुतकर्मणः । रहस्यं ब्रह्मविद्यायां ध्रुवाग्निं संप्रचक्षते ॥
ओमित्येकाक्षरं ब्रह्म यदुक्तं ब्रह्मवादिभिः । शरीरं तस्य वक्ष्यामि स्थानं कालत्रयन्तथा ॥
