पञ्चीकरणोपनिषत् हृदये गोप्या रक्षस्व च । सन्न्यासिनामिदं योगज्ञानेश्वर्यसुखप्रदम् ॥ पञ्चविंशतितत्त्वस्थो यत्र कुत्राश्रमे वसन् । जटी मुण्डी शिखी वापि मुच्यते नात्र संशयः ॥ दुःखेष्वनुद्विग्नमनाः सुखेषु विगतस्पृहः । वीतरागभयक्रोधस्स्थितधीर्मुनिरुच्यते ॥ चतुर्वेदधरो विप्रः सर्वशास्त्रविशारदः ।
आत्मतत्त्वं न जानाति दर्वी पाकरसं यथा ।। Colophon :-इति पञ्चीकरणोपनिषत् संपूर्णा ।

This Upanişad deals with the nature of the soul, of the Supreme Being, and of salvation ; and it explains also how this last is to be attained by one who, having become a Sannyāsin, has risen through the divine wisdom he has acquired, above the necessity of wearing the Sikhă, or the knot of hair on the head, as well as of wearing the Yajñoparīta or the Brahminical sacred thread. Beginning :
भद्रं कर्णेभिरिति शान्तिः ।
अथ हैनं महाकालाः(शाल:) शौनकोऽङ्गिरसं भगवन्तं पिप्पलादं विधिवदुपपन्नः पप्रच्छ । दिव्ये ब्रह्मपुरे (के) सम्प्रतिष्ठिता भवन्ति कथं
