वरुणस्य जामिपा ईश्वरो वा आनेयमिन्द्रस्य यत्रिषुनिष्टोममुपत्वेयं वैरजता प्रतिष्ठितो दश । वरुणस्येन्द्रियमनिरुक्तो यदाह पवस्व चत्वारिंशत् ॥ 40॥ वरुणस्य प्रतितिष्ठति । हरिः ओम् ।।
आङ्गारसाब्दे मिथुने चतुर्थ्यां भानुवासरे । मये कलियुगे चैव लिखितं पुस्तकन्विदम् ॥
वाञ्छेश्वरस्य पुत्रेण चैकश्चाप्यष्टकन्तथा ॥ The following entry in ink is made at the beginning :
“Vol. I.--This volume contains the first Aștakam of the Sākhã of Yajurvēdam: complete in eight Praśnas." The following is written at the end : “IHere ends the first Astakam of Yajur-védam. Calicut, 1824.

The copyist is called Venkatasubba, and the copying was finished on the 5th Bhadrapada of Pramoda (?) year.
Begins on fol. la. The other work herein is Śrīsūktabhāsyam, fol. 66a.
