The present MS has been described in L. VIII. 2583. Two other MSS are described in Oxf. No. 480 and L.I. 318. All the chapter colophons attribute the work to Nārāyana of the Ganga dynasty, but the name of the real author, Purusottama Miśra, seems to be given at the end after the last chapter colophon. Colophons :

The MS consists of two sets of folia, one containing section on vocal music and the other sections on instrumental music and dancing.
