प्रणम्य चरणाम्भोजयुगलं कमलापतेः ।
प्रमाणपद्धतिं कुर्वे बालानां बोधसिद्धये ॥ यद्यपि भगवत्पादैरेव प्रमाणलक्षणादिकमभिहितं तथापि गम्भीरया वाचा विक्षिप्य वर्णितं न मन्दः सुखेन शक्यते बो मिति तदर्थं प्रकरणमिदमारच्यते। यो धर्मो लक्ष्ये व्याप्त्या वर्तते न वर्त्तते चान्यत्र स लक्षणमित्युच्यते यथा गोः सानादिमत्त्वं, तद्धि गोषु सर्वत्रास्ति नास्ति चागोषु । अन्यथा नूनं त्वलक्षणं, तत्त्रिविधं असम्भव्यव्यापकमतिव्यापकश्चेति ।
