Aufrecht gives the date of the composition of the work as 1656 A.D. But his source of information is not ascertainable. The work was composed at Rajmahal when Shah Suja, the son of Emperor Shahjahan, was the governor of Bengal.
It ends thus :
पृथ्वीपतिमहावीरश्रीमत्माहिसुजान्तिके। श्रीराजमहलस्थेन मया ग्रन्थं विनिर्मितम् ॥ योगो मासकृतैः समः कर(२)हतो योगस्तिथिः स्यात् । तिथिस्त्रिघ्नावारमितिस्तदधं सदृशं भं सर्वयोगे पुनः ॥ भूवाणाक्षि (१५५१) कुभिर्भवेष्वमिति ग्रन्थस्थ x x
इति श्रीदेवज्ञवर्यपंडितदामोदरात्मजबलभद्रविरचिते हायनरत्ने मासप्रवेशादिविचाराध्यायोऽयमः समाप्तः॥ शुभं भूयात् ।
Post-colophon :
आश्विने कृष्णपक्षस्य दादश्यां गुरुवासरे। लिखितं विष्णुमित्रेण दिलीपपुरवासिना ॥ संवत् १८७६ शाके १७४४ ॥
