Saptaśatītākā. By Varāhamihira.
Substance, palm-leaf. 114x2inches. Folia, 54 of which eight leaves are missing. Some of the missing leaves cannot be exactly located, as many of the existing leaves have lost their leaf-marks. Lines, 5 to 8 on a page. Character, Nāgara, having the nearest approach to Bengali. Ap. pearance, old and worn-out.
There are two stray leaves also.
It contains an abbreviated recension of Bhattotpala's commentary on his Brhajjātaka, which is described here simply as Saptaśatī. The Brhajjātaka contains altogether 400 verses. But as some of the verses are long, their extent would be 700 ślokas of 32 letters each. The present manuscript contains 12 chapters from XIV to XXV. But in the printed edition the same portion of the work is distributed into 14 chapters, XIV to XXVII.
