Rāmāyaṇa-Lankākāņda. Substance, machine-made paper, 11 x 6 inches. Lines, 20 on a page. Pages, 317. Character, Bengali. Date of composition, Saka. 1617 (c. 1695 A.D.), Date of Ms. B.S. 1245 (c. 1878 A.D.). Book form. Appearance, fresh. Complete.
The poet was a Vandyaghatiya. Jagatrāma, the father of the poet composed a bulky Rāmāyaṇa in eight khandas. For its racy and sparkling style, the Rāmāyaṇa was very popular. With regard to the last cantos of it, the Lankākānda and the Uttarakānda, the poet was asked by his father to make an elaboration of them. The poet completed the work in 1695 A.D.
