श्रीशम्भुं श्रीहरिं सूर्यं हेरम्बं जगदीश्वरीम् । प्रणम्य शतकव्याख्यां कुर्मो योगतरङ्गिणीम् ॥
व्यथ योगस्य प्रकरणारम्भे श्रीभगवान् गोरक्षः श्रीगुरुपादाभिवन्दनात्मकं मङ्गलं ग्रन्थनिर्विघ्नतासिद्धये खनुष्ठितं शिष्यशिक्षायै निबध्नाति व्यर्थात् विषयप्रयोजने च सूचयति श्रीगुरुमिति ।

सम्बत् १८३० भादौ मासे कृष्णपक्षे 8 सोमवासरे काश्यायां धर्मेश्वरनिकटे शुभम् ।
