IX PREFACE TO THE CONTENTS
OF VOL. XIX. Vol. XIX consists of two parts. The first part notices 7621 manuscripts in brief tabular form only owing to want of funds. The inability of Government to place further funds at the disposal of the Administrative Committee rendered it necessary to cut out all detailed descriptive notices for the present. It is hoped that when the Library is able to set apart sufficient funds for the purpose, a detailed account of the 7621 Manuscripts now tabulated will be made available to the public.

I. MANTRAS. The Mantra section of this Library is very interesting ag the works noticed are very rare and not easily available elsewhere. These are tabulated under the following divisions in accordance with the well-known dictam. " Itaafai la coj vari He.

II. STOTRAS. Many of the Stotras noticed are already available in print in the various collections of Stotras as Bșhatstotraratnákara (Bombay), Brhatatotrakamalakara (Madras), Stotraratnákara Våvilla Press, Madras. The Sri Vani Vilas Press, Srirangam propose to bring out a collection of Stotras, containing the more irr portant ones which have been omitted in the above publications.
