The author of this tiny compendium of the heterodox philo. sophical systems is Gaigādbara vāja peyayājin, whose descendents are still flourishing at Tiruvālañgādu. He is the so me as the author of the fika-Rasikarañjani, on Srl Appayyadīkşita's Kuvalayānanda and of the Kāņādasiddhantarabasya described above. According to a verse on the title page given above, we come to know that Gangadharavājapeyayājin was requested by King Sahaji ( 1684-1710 A. D.) to write this work. This means, our author lived towards the end of the 17th century A. D. and the beginning of the 18th. This is confirmed by the words of the author himself, in the introductory verse of his Rasikarañjani, from which we learn that, that work also was written at the request of King Báhaji and that Gangadharavājapeya yajvan was the son of one Deva: simbamakhin and pupil of Visparūpayati and that the great Appayyadikşita was the teacher of his grandfather's brother.
