This work is somthing like a Smrti, a Code, secular as well as religious and philosophical. The first part called Dinacarya relates to the every-day life from the time of waking up and the latter half, Janmacarya, deals with Jain philosophy after briefly describing 5 other systems. It thus formulates six systems-Jaina, Minamsaka, Bauddha, Sankhya, Saiva and Nastika. The Mimamsaka comprises of the Purva (Karma) and the Uttara (Brahma) Mimāsas. It is interesting to note that the author describes the Nyaya and Vaibesika systems as the sects of the Saiva School. The Vaisesika is des cribed by the author as having only 6 padarthas. Under the last, the Nästika, the author rightly brings the only one Materialistic School of India, the Carvakas, their Nastik ya consisting of their views that the Penta-elemental physical frame is the soul and that there is no future life after death.
The author is the teacher of Amaracardra, author of the Kavya, Balabharata. His date is A. D. 1200.
