On the title page is given :
" तुलजाभूपतेरिदम् । श्रीमदीशानपरमसदाशिवशंकरावधूत स्वामिनां चतुर्वेदतात्पर्यसम्प्रहः आरम्भः ॥
From this as also from Aufrecht we come to know that Haradatta's work is also called Caturvedatatparyasangraha.
The following additional verse is seen at the end :" मिध्याकल्पितभोगमोक्षदवचरसन्तानसत्यावन
व्यप्राणामचिरप्रभावविबुधप्रेम्णा महेशद्विषाम् । मूर्धावेव दुरात्मनां विरचिता निर्घातपाताः परैः विद्वद्भिः परमेश्वरस्तुतिकथा तात्पर्यसंग्राहकैः ॥
तात्पर्यं परमार्थतः तस्य संग्रहोऽयमुक्तः । हरिः ओम् । श्रुतिसूक्तिमाला समाता ॥
""
Dr. Burnell wrongly classifies the Mss. of this work under Vedanta and describes it incorrectly as 'a compilation from Sankara's works etc.' It is a Saivaite work trying to inculcate, in 150 verses, that the Vedas and other texts speak only of Siva and that any other interpretation will only result in torture of texts,
