In philosophical literature we know of Gauda pădăcărya, tbe prácårya of Sri Sankara as the author of the Magdükya Karikās. Besides him, we hear of a Gaudapādācārya as the author of a commentary on the Sāåkhya karikäs and of still another as the author of the above described work, Uttara. gitá vyakhyä. There is a fourth author of this name the author of a poem on Dovl callod Kärikāvall. The identity of these authors is a nooted question. The Uttaragstå Vyákhyā has been printed and published by the Sri Väri Vilās Press, Srirangam with a proface.
