The repetition of this Mantra is intended to propitiate the goddess Suddhavidyāmbă, a manifestation of Devi, and thus to enable one to free one's soul from the bondage of Samsara. Beginning :
अस्य श्रीशुद्धविद्यामहामन्त्रस्य कर्मविपाकसदाशिव ऋषिः, गायत्री श्रीशुद्धविद्या मनोन्मनी देवता; ऐं बीजं, ई शक्तिः, ओं कीलकं, मम पशुपाशविमोचनशुद्धविद्याम्बाप्रसादसिद्धयर्थे जपे विनियोगः ।
