This work is printed in Calcutta and Bombay and in Grantha character at Palghat. The author is the disciple of Vidyaranya and so should have flourished in the 15th century. It is doubted if Bharatit Irtha and Vidyaranya are different persons. From a reading given in the printed edition from Venkateswar Press, Bombay we find विद्यारण्य महेश्वरौ which suggests that both are different and that both were gurus of this author. This view seems to find favour with Dr. Keith.
