KAMALĀRARABHATTA AND HIS FAMILY.
The family of Kamalakarabhatta was one of the most dietin. guished in the 17th century in the South. We know that Kamalakara composed his Nirnayasindhu in 1612 A. D. He has com. posed several works in Mimāmsā but the one that should be referred to here is the Sastramälā, a commentary on which by Kamalăkara's son Ananta bhatta is described in this volume under Nos. 6862-65.
Dinakarabbatta, the son of the brother of Kamalakara, was the father of the famous Gågäbhatta. Dingkarabhatta's oommen. tary on the Såstradipikä bas been already referred to (No. 6924.)
Dinakara's son, Gagābhatta, who officiated as the chief priest during the coronation of Sivāji in 1884 is the author of an im. portant and independent work on Mimāmsã-Bhātfacintä maņi (Nos. 0812-52).
KHANDADEVA,
Three works of Khandadeva are preserved here. They are:
(1) Bhättadipikā (Nos, 6819--31).
This has been commented upon by his pupil Sambhubhatta in 1707 4. D, (Nos, 6882--40),
(2) Mlmāmgākausta bha (Nox. 6806—12) and
(8) Bhamarahasya (Nos. 6813–18). Khandadeva now holds the field and his Bbāstadspikā is the standard text book, He is said to have died at Benares in 1665 A. D.
