library- the Bästradipikā and the Nyāyaratnamila. The găstradipikā (Nos. 6866-6907) is an independent treatise on Pūrvams. māmsā, based upon the Adhikarañasūtras alone. This was the most popular text book till the advent of the Bhättadipika of Khandadeva.
Several writers have commented upon this work and the following commentaries are preserved in this library;
i. Mayūkbamäliki (Nos. 6908-19) by Somanātha of Nisbalakula. Somanātha was the younger brother of Venkateśvarayajvan and was a student under his brother. He was later than Appayya Dikgita.
ii. Mayűkbävall (Nos. 6920-21) by the great Appayya Dikçita who flourished during the sixtenth century. This is a rare commentary and full of information.
iii. Karpūravarttikā (Nos. 6922-39) by Sri Rājacūdamaņi DIkşita, son of Ratnakheta Srinivāsa Dikgita,
iv. Dinakarabhaltiya (Nos. 6924-29) by Dinakarabbatta, a near kinsman of Kamalakarabhatta of Nirņayasindhu fame, and
. Prabhā mandala (Nos. 1930-32) of Yajñanārāyana Dikșita--an andhrs Brahmin of the Carukūri family. In latter days he seems to have turned a sanyāsin and was then known as Anubhavanandayati.
The other work of Pärthasaratbimisra is the Nyāyaratna. måla described under Nos. 6055-67. One Rāmānujācārya, an Andhra Brahmin bas commented upon the work and it is known as Nāyakaratna (No. 6958) The author lived in the 18th century.
