Patañjali, the reputed author of the Mahabhãąya is sapposed to be identical with the author of the Yogasūtras. He is regarded as the author of an elaborate treatise on medi. cino also.
Dr. Bhandarkar and following him, others also have dated Patanjali in the 2nd century, B. C. The date is fairly acceptable.
The edition of the Mahabhãoya by Dr. Keilhorn in the Bombay Sanskrit Series is important.
Other copies of the Mahābhāạya are tabulated as before.
