58. The earliest reference to the work of Purugotta ma is to be found in the Tik sarvasva of Sarvånanda, which was composed in A. D. 1159. It is therefore certain that he is older than 1159.

i. By Kairasyimin.
In an article in the Quarterly Journal of the Andhra Historical Research Society, Mr. Ramakrishna Kavi has shown that
K rasvåmin should be regarded as a native of Uttiramerūr in the Chingleput District. He refers to Bhoja in his commentary and is in tarn referred to by writers belonging to the 19th century and onwards. Koirasvāmin thorefore may be assigned to the 11th centry A. D.
ii. By Sarvånanda
Sarvananda was a native of Bengal and wrote the Tikäsarvasva after consulting the ten previous commentaries that existed in his time. His own commentary was composed in A. D. 1179, as stated by himself in the work, (i. e.)

Thus the work was composed in baka 1081 corresponding to A. D. 1159
