Curiously enough the names of Isvarakrama and Kalidasa have been brought together and given as the name of the author of this lexicon. There was a time when it was believed that Isvarakruņa, the author of the Såskhya Kfrikas was identical with Kálidāsa, though the theory has been given up at present.
