Dhananjaya, the author of this lexicon seems to have been a Jain writer of the 12th century A. D. He is identical with the author of the Deisandhãnakávya a work, which according to Prot. K. B. Pathak was composed in Baka 1045 or A. D. 1123. The work has been printed in the Dvadasakosasaigraha, published from Benares in 1865.
