This Prakarapa was composed by Rajasekhara at the request of his pupil Mahendrapāla, king of Känyakubja. Mahendra. päla's inscriptious dated in A. D. 898-907 are found and consequently Rājasekhara should have flourished in the latter part of tha gth and the beginning of the 10th century.
The work is based upon the story of the Rāmāyaṇa and it is available in print having been published in Calcutta.
