We know of a Peru bhatta, who was the father of Jaganpātha Pandita. The name of the author given in this Ms. is Perusūri. It is not known whether this Perusūri was the same as the father of Jagannatha Paplita. The colophon very strongly induces cne to suggest the identity. This Perusūri had the title Abhinavapatañjali, which in other words means that he was a great Vaiyakaraña.
