"The Rāmacandrodayakävya is noticed under Nos. 3781-92. The Rāmacandrodaya was composed, according to the verse,
काव्यमङ्गगुणशैलयुगान्दे वेङ्कटोऽकृत कलौ कविवर्य : in Kali 4736, corresponding to A. D. 1695. Twenty one years later the Yainakārņava was composed as noted above.
The author himself has commented upon the Ramacandrodaya. The commentary is noticed under Nos. 9788-35.
VĀMANABHATTABĀNA.
Two works of Vāmanu Bhatta Bāņa are noticed in these two Volumes. They are
1. The Raghanāthacarita (No. 5721) and 2. The Viranārāyaṇacarita (No. 4025)
The former, which has not been printed by any body so far summarises the story of the Rāmāyana in 30 cantos.
The other is a biography of his patron, Viranārāyaḥa, otherwise known as Vemabhūpāla. This latter work has been published in the Sri Våņi Vilas Press.
There was a time when he was mistakenly identified with the old Bapa Bhatta even by well informed scholars. In the introduction to the Sri Vāņi Vilas Edition of the Pārvatipariņayanătaka of Vămana Bhatta Bāņa Pandit R. V. Krishnamachariar has definitely shown that the author of these works is different from his famous namesake and that he was the native of the Andhra Districts in the 16th century.
