Burnell's
The arya is addressed to Rama, the incarnation of Visnu. Mudgala Bhatta is later than Vidyaranya, the famous author of the Vedabhāṣyas. Prof. Max Muller refers to Mudgala in his introduction to the Rgveda and it is very likely that this Mudgala is the same as this author. Another Mudgala, a mimimsaka is known to us as the author of a commentary on the Bhāvanāviveka of Mandanamiśra.
