SANSKRIT MATOBORITTI
2909
Remarks:--- The Ms. is in good condition. The work is ascribed
to 3 Sankara and there is a tradition that seeks to identify this Sankara with the famous author of the Bhāşya on the Brahma sütras.
The Sataka itself is very old, -older than Anandavardhana, the author of the Dhyanyaloka. Some other copies give the name of the author as Amarukakavi. Amaruka was a King, according to tradition. The Sataka deals with the sentiment of Srigāra. In No. 3905 the commentator Vemabhupala cites the author as Ainaruka.
