begins with 13th śloka of the first sarga. On the title page is given:'मेलकावेरि शेषाद्रिदीक्षितानां पुस्तकं विश्वनाथोपाध्यायसूनु सूर्यनारा.
यणोपाध्याय विरचितं प्रासभारतम ॥ The author of the work is one Süryanārāyana Sumati, son of Viśvanātha Sumati. It is not known whether this author is in any way connected with Iśvarasumati referred to proviously. The work deals with the story of the Mahabharata.
The author's descendants are still traceable in the Tinnevelly District.
