Regarding this author and this commentary, Dr. Burnell observes on page 19 of his Catalogue, as follows:-" The author Mahadeva states that he was Adhvaryu to one Tryambakādhvarin (of Sahaji's time 1684-1710A. D.), by whose order he composed this commentary, following the opinions of Bhavasvamin. This commentary is exceedingly diffuse; the Baudhayana Karmanta and Dvaidha sutras are discussed and quotations from the Apastamba, Bharadvaja and other Sutras are frequent."
