the Pratihāra and Nidhana sūtras which form the tenth Patala of the Upagrantha sūtra, belonging to
Sāma Veda. Remarks :-The Ms. is in a decaying condition. It is full of scrip.
torial errors. This is a commentary on the tenth Patala of the Upagrantha sūtras of Kätyāyana, of which the first 14 Khandas form the Pratihara and the 15th, Khanda forms Nidhana. The Upagrantha Sūtras are attributed to Kätyāyana by Şadguru Bigya also in his Rg.Veda Sarvanukramapr Vrtti-c/t.
'वाजिनां सूत्रकृत्स्नानामुपप्रन्थस्य कारकः ।।
एवंगुणगणैर्युक्त: कात्यायनमहामुनिः ॥' cf. No. 1940. There are also other Pratibāra Sūtras composed by Jaimini and Ahisrenya. cf. No. 2045.
