भास्करराययज्वनाम्' i. e. the Ms. belonged to Bhaskarariyayajvan. This is one of the rare Mss. found in the Tyagarajasvāmi collection of this Library. If the date of the Ms. given in the colophon is correct, then this is one of the oldest paper Mss. found in this Library. The Ms. is full of scriptorial errors.

* ॐ मिति ब्रह्म परमं प्रप(धे पुरुषोत्तमम् ।
छन्दोगसूत्रं व्याचष्टे धन्वी सुद्धार्थमञ्जसा ॥ अथ भगवान् सूत्रकारः प्रथमं तावत्परिभाषां करोति । 'अथातो विध्यव्यपदेश सर्वक्रत्वधि)कार' इति । अथात इति पदव्यं वाक्योपक्रमे लोकवेदयोईष्टम् । यथा वाक्यसमातावितिशब्दः। तद्यथा। 'अथातोऽनन्ता द्वादशाहा' इति प्रतिदिशन्ति । “अथातः सामान्तानाम्" ' अथा(तः संहिता)या उपनिषद' इत्यादि । आनन्तर्यहेत्वर्थता तु वाक्यस्य परिभाषापरत्वास सम्भवति । विधानं विधिः । विशेषकथनं व्यपदेशः। तदभा. वोऽन्यपदेशः।
