Herein the duration of the time of each Lagna is divided into 12 equal periods and the characteristics of a person born in each of these periods are described. Beginning:
चोरस्वभोक्ता मतिमान् धनाढ्यः राजा च षण्डो विजयी दरिद्रः । कार्येषु दक्षः खलु कर्मकतन्(र्ता)शूरश्च विद्यानिधिजातकान्तः ॥ पिशुनश्चपलो दुष्टः पापकर्मा निराकृतिः । व्यसने च परप्रेष्यः चोरस्य प्रथमांशके ॥ उत्पन्नविभवो भोक्ता बुद्धिमांश्च विचक्षणः ।
