Explains at first the method of drawing a snake-like diagram with certain astronomical tables of caloulation for predicting the occurrence of certain things in a given year, such as the abundance or otherwise of rain, crops, the rise and fall in the price of certain articles, the prevalence of famine, war, eto. The work goos on to give the method of determining certain details ordinarily found in Indian calendars. Beginning:
अथातस्संप्रवक्ष्यामि वर्षचक्रं लिखेबुधः । येन विज्ञानमात्रेण वृष्टिज्ञानस्य साधकम् ॥ ऊर्ध्वगा वसु विन्यस्य तिर्यग्रेरवाच पञ्चकम् । वसुपे(प)क्षपदं चक्रं जायते नात्र संशयः । कृत्तिकादि लिरवेद्भानि साभिजित्तत्क्रमेण च । सप्तनाडिमिदं चक्रं कर्तव्यं पन्नगाकृति ॥ ताराचतुष्कभेदेन नाडिकासु प्रजायते । तासां नामान्यहं वक्ष्ये तथा चैव फलानि च ॥
