This is the first of the three volumes in which the work is written, the other two being describ d under the next two numbers. The work is apparently not completo in three volumes. This treatise in Asvaśāstra appears to be a compilation froin various previously existing works dealing with the origin, characteristics and the treatment of diseases, eto., of horses.
