The disciple did so immediately and praised the Sungod. The hymn here described was the one that was uttered by him. The Sun-god is said to bave appeared in the form of a white horse and taught Yájñavalkya fifteen Sākhas of YajurVoda not known to Vaišampāyana. Beginning:
नमः सवित्रे द्वाराय मुक्तेरमिततेजसे । ऋग्यजुस्सामरूपाय त्रयीधाम्ने च ते नमः || नमोऽमिष्टोमभृताय जगतः कारणात्मने ।
भास्कराय परं तेजः सौषुम्नमुरु बिभ्रते ॥ End:
हिरण्मयं रथं यस्य केतवोऽमृतवाजिनः । वहन्ति भुवनालोकचक्षुषं तं नमाम्यहम् ॥
पराशरः----
इत्येवमादिभिस्तेन स्तूयमानः स्तवै रविः । वाजिरूपधरः प्राह वियतामभिवाञ्छितम् ॥
शाखाभेदास्तु तेषां वै दश पञ्च च बाजिनाम् ।
काण्वाद्याः सुमहाभागा याज्ञवल्क्यप्रकीर्तिताः ॥ Colophon:
