In praise of Vēgāsēta worshipped in a temple at Conjeeveram. He is so called because he is said to have stemmed the rapidity of Sarasvatī, when she rushed in the form of a stream to flood the sacrificial ground of her husband, Brahman. He is also called Yathōktakārin as he is believed to have followed his devotee Tirumalisaiyālvār out of Conjeeveram at his request.
