This work in praise of Basava is written in a kind of poeticprose composition known as Udaharana. It consists mainly of eight stanzas, each of them illustrating the use of one of the eight declensional cases and being followed by two similarly composed passages in the Kalika and the Utkalika metres respectively. It is required that the whole piece should be concluded by two stanzas, one of them illustrating the use of all the eight cases and the other containing the name of the outhor. By Sōmakavi. जयतु बसवराजः प्राणलिङ्गात्मपूजः शरणदिविजभूजस्मेर संवित्सरोजः । गणपरिषदधीनः ख्यातदानावदानः सरसम हिमगानः स्वानुभूत्येकमानः॥

अपिच पुरातननूतनशिवगणपादोदकपरिलसदभिषेकः ।

यः संगीतनिधिर्यमाहुरभवं येनार्चितं नृतं यस्मै स्वस्ति यतस्तदीयमुद भूयद्वीरशैवत्रतम् । यस्यापाङ्गसहोदरी च करुणा यस्मिन्महत्त्वादिकं स त्वं त्रीणि जगन्ति पाहि बसवामात्येशचूडामणे ॥ . बसवराजगुणमणिखचितं जयतात्सुवर्णमेतत् ।
सोमसुकविना रचितं हृदयाभरणं सदा (ता) मुदाहरणम् ॥
