On the ceremonial touching of certain parts of the body while repeating at the same time the syllables of the Gayatrimantra. This Nyāsa is prescribed as a preliminary to the Gayatrimantrajapa. Beginning :
शृणु देवि प्रवक्ष्यामि न्यासं सर्वत्र दुर्लभम् । आयुःश्रीकीर्तिदं पुण्यं मन्त्रसिद्धिकरं परम् ।। स्नात्वा शुद्धाम्बरो मन्त्री तत्तन्मन्त्रोक्तदेवताम् । ध्यात्वा ऋष्यादिकन्यासं कराङ्गन्याससंयुतम् ॥ शिरोमध्ये न्यसेन्मन्त्रन्तत्प्राक्दक्षिणोत्तरे परे(?) ।
ललाटमध्ये तद्दक्षे वामभागे च विन्यसेत् ॥ End:
तस्मादिह द्विजश्रेष्ठैध्येया जप्या च सर्वदा। मुद्रां प्रदर्श्य ध्यात्वैवं गायत्रीञ्च ततो जपेत् ॥

On the manner of drawing and consecrating the Gāyatrīyantra. The wearing of a metallic plate containing this diagram is believed to have the power to destroy evil spirits, to wipe of deadly sins, etc.
