On the significance and the method of repetition of the Praṇavamantra, Öm, which is here taken to signify the identity of Ātman and Prakști. In this sense this Praņava-mantra is called Bhuvanēsvarīmantra, as the universe is considered to have sprung from Prakrti. Beginning
अथ सकलमन्त्रस्फूर्त्यांपादकाः प्रणवमातृकाभुवनेश्वरीमन्त्रा उपासितव्या इति तेषामुपासनक्रमः कथ्यते । उक्तञ्च-प्रणवा मातृका देवी हृल्लेखीत्यमृतत्रयम् ।
विपिनं सर्वमन्त्राणामित्याह भगवान् शिवः ॥ . End:
अहमिति सर्वसाक्षी प्रत्यगात्मा उच्यते । तयोस्सामानाधिकरण्येन ईशत्वमुक्तम् । अस्यार्थस्य स्पष्टतया वाचकः प्रथमः । अस्पष्टतया वाचको द्वितीय इति प्रथममन्त्रोऽवशिष्यते । उभयस्यापि महावाक्यार्थबोधकत्वमस्त्येव ॥
