The proper repetition of this Mantra is believed to have the power, as implied in its name, to free one from the bondage of Samgära and to secure salvation. The five-syllablod Mantra is not given in the manuscript. Beginning: लवनपञ्चाक्षरमहामन्त्रस्य ब्रह्मविष्णुरुद्रेश्वरसदाशिव(1) ऋषिः(षयः), गायत्र्युष्णिगनुष्टुप् छन्दः बृहती पतिश्छन्दांसि, विराड्पो देवता ; लं बीजं, रं शक्तिः, हं कीलकं, लवनपञ्चाक्षरसिद्धयर्थे जपे विनियोगः । End: आकाशाच्च विशुद्धवृत्तसदृशं यद्ब्रह्मरन्ध्रास्थितं तन्नादेन सदाशिवेन सहितं शान्तं हकारान्वितम् । प्राणं तत्र विलीनपञ्चघटिकाचि(श्चि)त्तान्वितं धारयेत् एषा मोक्षकवाटभेदनकरी प्रोक्ता नभोधारिणी ॥ No. 7140. लीलादण्डधरगोपालमन्त्रः. LILADANDADHARAGOPALAMANTRAH. Pages, 2. Lines, 5 on a page. Begins on fol. 568 of the MS. described under No. 5885. Complete. This Mantra is addressed to Krsna conceived as a cow-herd having in his haud a playing stick.
