This Mantra consisting of 8 syllables is addressed to the Sungod; and its repetition is considered to be efficacious in the curing of various kinds of diseases, in the accomplishment of one's desires and in the attainment of salvation.

पूर्वोक्तएवंगुणविशेषणविशिष्टायां शुभतिथौ मम सकलपापक्षयार्थभैवाहिकठ्याहिकत्र्याहिकचातुराहकादिसकलरोगशान्त्यर्थ समस्तमङ्गलावाप्त्यर्थ सावित्राष्टाक्षरीमन्त्रजपं करिष्ये-अस्य श्रीसावित्राष्टाक्षरीमन्त्रस्य भार्गव ऋषिः, गायत्री छन्दः, आदित्यो देवता; कं बीजं, यं शक्तिः, दं कीलके, मम इष्टार्थसिद्ध्यर्थे जपे विनियोगः । End: ओं श्रीं ह्रीं क्लीं घृणिस्सूर्य आदित्यों ।
शुद्धात्मा रविजश्श्रीमान् तस्माद्रोगाद्विमुक्तवान् । अष्टाविंशतिकुष्ठानि महारोगाणि यानि च ॥ अशीतिवातरोगाश्च प्रणश्यन्ति न संशयः ।। कुर्वन्नेवंप्रकारेण भुक्तिं मुक्तिं च विन्दति ॥
