This Mantra is addressed to a constellation of very brilliant stars resembliny a porpoise situated in the heavens just above the Dhruva or polar star. This celestial porpoise-shaped constellation is conceived to be the same as Nārāyaṇa, the God who is the life and support of all beings. Beginning:
ओन्नमो भगवते ज्योतिर्लोकाय कालायनाय निमेषपतये महापुरुषाय धीमहीति प्राणायामः । . . . . . . . . . __अस्य श्रीशिंशुमारमहामन्त्रस्य ब्रह्मा ऋषिः, त्रिष्टुप् छन्दः; शिंशु. मारो देवता, शिंशुमारप्रेरणया शिंशुमारप्रीत्यर्थे जपे विनियोगः । End: ___ ओन्नमो भगवते ज्योतिर्लोकाय कालायनाय निमेषपतये महापुरु. षाय धीमहि-इति जपः । उपसंहारः पूर्ववत् ॥
