At the end of the work under notice there are about two pages of matter on the characteristics of Jatā.
The work deals with the orthagraphy, pronunciation and prosody of the Rgvöda. The contents of the 18 chapters are given on page 137 of Rājēndralala Mitra's Catalogue of the Sanskrit MSS. in the Library of His Highness the Maharaja of Bikaner.
Beginning :
परापरे ब्रह्मणि यं सदाहुः वेदात्मानं वेदनिधिं मुनीन्द्राः । तं पद्मगर्भ परमन्त्वादिदेवं प्रणम्यर्ची लक्षणमाह शौनकः ।। माण्डूकेयस्संहितां वायुमाह तथाकाशं चास्य माक्ष(ण्ड)व्य एव । समानतामनिले चाम्बरे च मत्वागस्त्यो विपरं(रि) हारन्तदेव ॥ अध्यात्मक्लृप्तौ शूरवीरस्सुताश्च वाङ्मनसयोर्विपदन्त्यानुपूर्वे (व्ये)। सन्धेर्विवर्तनं निर्भुजं वदन्ति शौद्धाक्षरोच्चारणन्तु प्रतृण्णम् ॥ उभये(य)मन्तरेणोभयं व्याप्तमग्रे वरे कामा अन्ननाकोभयाज्याख्याः । प्राणेष्व(णप्ष)कारे यच्च बलं णकारे वाराणयोर्यच्च होमः परस्परम् ॥ गुरुत्वं लघुता साम्यं हवदीर्घप्लुतानि च । लोपागमविकाराश्च प्रकृतिर्विक्रमः क्रमः ॥
